Playing the game

game2048 is free to play in the browser. You can slide the board, merge matching tiles, and try to reach the 2048 tile. You do not need an account.

The best score shown beside the board is a personal record saved on this device. It is not an official ranking and it is not compared with other players.

The board

Classic, daily, twos-only, and 3×3 are practice modes of the same game. A daily opening uses the date on your device to place the first tiles. After that, the board is yours. Nothing about a finished game is stored on a server.

Use of the site

You can play, read the how-to, and share the address of the page. Please don’t try to disrupt the site or use it to harm someone else.

The tiles, the wordmark, and the text on this site are part of game2048. The puzzle itself follows the familiar 2048 rules.

Availability

The game is provided as it is. A browser update, a cleared cache, or a change to the page can reset a local best score. We don’t promise that a score, a daily board, or the site itself will be available without interruption.

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page will change with them. Playing after that date means you are using the current version. The privacy policy describes the score stored on your device.
